Well, to be fair, it was only the second time i'd had it out so i could have maybe blocked the pulse pipe. it was turning over forever but not firing and when someone pointed out that i'd not pierced the lid, i took the lid off, cranked it over and it fired straight away. However, after getting more familiar with the ways of the max i could now maybe believe it was coincidence. leaves my original problem unsolved though! lol
