ok, ignore the term fiched,and replace with the word blueprint, but can someone tell me the answer to this then please? Why do some people pay more money to some engine builders than others. if you cant make any changes from standard why pay more money... After all the rotax engine is just a single cylinder 2 stroke!Not rocket science.( although many people do seem to make a complete balls up of a very simple engine)

Personally I have been building these type of engines for twentysix years,motocross engines in my early years and then yamaha tz250 engines, honda rs125 and rs250 engines and the much more fickle aprilia v twin engines.
As rider and engine builder my engines and riding have won two british motorcycle championship titles, Lap records at thruxton,snetterton,knockhill, Brands hatch which wasnt only the quickest 250 lap but also the fastest two wheel lap of the brands indy curcuit at the time (1996)i think it was 0.2 seconds under the then superbike lap record.

SO please this is not some kind of challenge i just genuineley want to know why the diferance? Because i really do believe that many people are being parted with their money for something they believe is really good, and in reality the main factor making the said engine look good was the driver.
Obviousley some engines can just be a tad better than others but not by the amount some people would like you to believe.
