Your logic is sound, but Rotax has already admitted the same in regards to the Junior Max cylinders. All cylinders manufactured before '08 are no longer accepted. the reason for this is that cylinders before '08 were modified [filed ports] at the factory, and it bacame impossible to determine if a fiched cylinder had been modified by owner, or the factory. From what I've heard they were forced to exchange all earlier cylinders for new ones.
