I learned the hard way that Red Lodge, moisture and slicks results in scrabbling round for grip for many laps.
I only race for fun. I work on the principal that if you help to make everybody quicker (even your closest competitor), you'll have a club people want to go to and better racing for it too. It's no fun stomping off into the distance or seeing a good competitor struggle with reliability.
I generally don't race in the winter because I really don't enjoy being outside all day in the cold wind and rain, despite enjoying driving in the wet. It just isn't fun. I may come out to play at the next meeting if I have time. I aiming to do more MSA meetings this year though (Rye House initially then a bit of Kimbolton when I'm up to speed).
