Ok , a fair few people have scratched their heads on this one so i don't expect a flurry of instant answers . I'll explain the problem , what we have tried and then how we may have masked it , however we don't want it masked we require a cure .
Basic problem is low speed an light throttle running, out of a corner there is a delay before the engine clears and pulls , what appears to be happening and we can replicate it on the trolley is low speed the engine is over fueling ,and therefore chokes up as hugely rich. It will not idle ,even with the idle screw fully in, unless you remove the fuel pipe (or pinch it) and it eventually idles , rolling laps are terrible ,with you almost wanting to pinch the fuel pipe and cover the Rad and steer with your knee's .
we have changed ,
carbs x 5 fuel pumps x 2 plus 2 rebuilds loom switches batteries coil exhaust (may have improved it but not overly sure)
imediatley after the meeting the engine itsself was taken back to the dyno , on start it filled the room with smoke as massively choked up , cleared and then ran totally fine through its complete power cycle ,stoped and ticked over as sweet as it ever would.
we may have masked the issue by running a wider freeline fuel hose into the pulse ,and a thinner fuel line into the carb ?
and everyone is now very much confused as to where the problem lies ,so time to see if anyone may shed an ounce of light on this.
on the dyno it does not run with our carb .
