I dont think there is any right way or wrong way, it all depends on your own preference, number of engines and coils etc.

I use one complete set of evo electrical kit which stays on the kart and I have the fuel pump attached to the bracket with tywraps.

So to remove the engine, I disconnect the fuel pipe at the carb, remove the pulse pipe from the engine, cut the tywraps, pull the black pipe off the power valve and unbolt the coil bracket from the engine leaving the plugs inserted into the coil and solenoid. Pull of the spark plug lead, crank sensor and starter motor plug and its off. I also attach the bracket with hex headed bolts rather than cap head as I find it easier with two spanners rather than trying to get an allen key in.

I think this is better than constantly pulling the plugs out of the sockets. Also I have seen a few motors topple over with the bracket attached and the solenoid hose fitting getting snapped off.
