Another option you might consider is getting involved with Historic Karting. Dates now include up to 1997 any air cooled in period kart/engine combination. You would then have the option of track days, demos at kart meetings and Historic Car racing festivals and static display at classic racing shows. We have a full calendar of venues in the UK and abroad. If you should fancy getting into some racing there are a number of historic/retro series, all non MSA, full grids, some very competitive some less so. Historic/Retro karting is the only growing area of contemporary karting. Look for British Historic Kart Club, RetroRacer or F100 Spirit of the Nineties on Facebook. You will find a great community spirit and lots of activities.
