I know what you mean Alan. As you know I've been struggling to get my Mk1 EVO set up to work.
I've sorted the PV problem by using the mk2 bracket which cut out the vibration problem.
I now seem to have another problem with a number of differnet engines producing the same problem with the same evo ancillaries - namely only pulling to about 13,000 and partially miising and / or just no pulling.
I've swapped everything apart from the evo coil as I don't have a spare of that. I've even replaced the HT lead and plug cap.
I've run just the evo loom, ecu and coil with prevo carb, PV and still no different on 3 differnet engines.
With those engine changes came the ignition pick up that was with each engine and that works with prevo ancillaries??
If I run all prevo gear on the same engines all works fine and our best engine pulls really well at top end.
I've wasted two full test days on race weekend trying to get this all to work. But as my ancillaries weren't bought new as a kit I can't send them back!
I want to use the evo stuff mainly because I like the starter set up with the solenoid - it kicks over the motor faster and better. Also I want the ignition as it revs higher - if I can get it to work!
Think I might try another loom again, as I have never known a rotax coil itself (not HT lead or plug cap) go down.
Noted on the carb, for me the evo carb works best as I'm not that good on throttle control especially in a race when I make mistakes. But for my lad who is good on the throttle our best prevo carb is faster.
