When you take the plug out of the coil and look down it, you should see a red rubber seal surrounding the white connector block.

Even with the stupid jag seal on the reed block you can see if the rubber has perished or cracked where the carb fits. If it's really bad you can see it from the inside. It happens a lot if people don't remove the airbox and prise the carb out of the rubbers.

You haven't left the three screws holding the airbox bracket loose? I've seen that done and it ran like a dog.

Is it possible for you to do a crankcase pressure test in case a seal has popped out on the crank.

After that you might be left with having to borrow a coil and crank sensor.
