It certainly encourages non-contact driving, with claener rolling starts. However, one interesting tactic I observed is that once the bumper has moved in, is for the driver to try push or kick the bumper back into place, whilst driving and before reaching parc ferme - which throws up a whole new safety issue and marshalling challenge!
