When I used to mess about in a second hand pro-kart, I did often wonder who would buy a non Selected parts engine (or and engine bits) off an engine builder who offered a selected parts option.
My logic was, if they're selecting "better than average" bits to make and sell SP's, then their "standard" must be filled with bits that are below average. How true that was, I don't know but when i wanted a new Honda engine and wasn't going to pay SP prices, I just brought a boxed new engine from a non kart source, figuring I'd roll the dice and see what I got rather than risk getting a case full of rejected sp parts.
I'm not surggesting tal-ok does anything like that, as to the best of my knowledge, there is no sp option.

Plus my experience with Iame is that with proper racing engines, there isn't anywhere near the benefits, that's why we steered clear of comer and Honda in cadet and have gone TKM rather than minimax!
