Just fitted Rotax junior engine which has the new-style clutch. Was purchased without a clutch drum,so internals have previously run, and I have supplied and fitted new drum. However, started this engine yesterday on the stand and clutch seems to drag, only releasing at minimal revs where engine will stall. Have no experience with this new type clutch so maybe this is normal and have not put it on the ground or run on circuit. Will running "spread" the drum (enlarge internal diameter slightly) or is running-in required with a new drum? Thanks for replies.
