I think when the clubs are pushing clerks to interpret the rules the way the club wants rather than the way the blue book states there will always be a problem. WM is a good example of this with track limits. Use whatever you want is now the order of the day - but when someone has a big accident because of it will be the clerks in the firing line.
The other issue is that when making money is the no 1 priority, the number of marshals and DSO's drop and incidents are missed. I am sorry but if you want the Clerks to deal accordingly then you need the right number of marshals - for WM at least 4 incident and 4 driving standards observers.
