Further to my flippant answer, you only have to look at PFI this weekend and see that the X30 seniors have A B and C finals with over 60 entries, you haven't seen that for years.

Also just look at the names that are attached to those engines and you will recognise the names of some top and very good drivers.

Then look at the senior max grid and you might not know anyone.

The X30 is probably slightly slower than a max but speed isn't what they seem to be looking for, it's the drivability and the closeness of the engine performance.

You don't have to go out with a bulging wallet to try and buy a good engine.

They're coming out of the box very equal and this is borne out in the lap times and overtaking is now a matter of skill.

Why not book a test of one, just to try it out.

Every single person I know who has tried one, has said they wouldn't go back.

Even the juniors tell their parents they don't wish to drive their Max any more.

Just looking at the quality of the internals will convince you, the max looks like the inside of a Honda GX160, very agricultural, and the X30 looks like the inside of an F1 engine.

The best part is, there is no seal, so scrutineers can go in and see if anything is amiss and you can too.

It's a win win win win situation.

If Carling built kart engines...............................
