Actually, it is possible to unscrew the sprocket nut using the external starter, more so if it is used repeatedly without the nut being checked between starts.

But as we have discussed before, there will be people who swear that it makes/ made a difference to them. It goes in the seat stay, stiff axle, mag and lo-volume rim box. (No, I don't deny that they work for some people...but no-one seems to know why)
