I'd strongly sugest that you try to avoid the idea of 'should it be X or Y'. What you should do is work out what the effect of any change will be. You'll then be able to assess the situation for yourself.

Raising the ride height takes your Centre of Gravity upward. The higher the CofG, the more the kart will try to 'roll' (just think of the effect of a double-decker bus in a tight corner). That puts force (pressure) down though the outer tyres/wheels. Tyres grip in a direct relationship to the force applied downward through them: Mopre downward force= more grip (hence F1 wings). Thus, raising the ride height increase the grip on the outside wheels..... the twist is that it DECREASES the grip of the inside wheel..... but the inside wheel doesn't do much for you in a corner.

The second major effect is of higher ride height is that the kart will try to 'fall over' more. In karts, you'll feel the onset of 'too high' when the kart starts to 'hop' as the track grip increases. Hopping will slow you through corners.

Thus, for me, I run (errr.... ran!) 'high' when the grip levels are low and run Low when the grip levels are high. You'll know when you are getting near the 'limit' of using raised height and need to lower it when the kart starts hopping!

Work out 'Why' rather than "What's the advice"; you'll understand your kart better.
