Get your son to drive a GTA (or similar) driving game for an hour or so and then blindfold him and see how well he does. Ideally, choose somewhere like Indianapolis where there are only 4 corners. If he manages that, then try more complex tracks. If he can still do it, then it MIGHT be possible in a kart..... I still doubt it though.
