You'll enjoy OEKC, its a great series.

Can't talk specifically about the engine, but make sure your brake is suitable for endurance racing rather than sprint and I'd highly recommend a good kart to pit radio (scala rider seem to be the main one used).

Be careful where you add the lead too, at the last round, we (Damage) had the steering column bottom bracket welds fail because we had lead mounted on it.
