Problem is, how well have they been looked after?
It's a bit like the MO and 8** TKM carbs, all very well if you have a good one but you're just as likely to end up with a duffer from a chancer on Ebay.
Don't buy just on the word of the seller, ask to try it first and see if your engine performs better.
"Used at S1" is a favourite, as a doorstop is probably the answer.
The early carbs do seem to be better if they have been well looked after but you may end up with just the original body with 00 on it and everything else has been changed.
There are many things to check on an old carb.
Is the filter thread damaged.
Can you still remove the choke jet and is the thread damaged.
Is the cap thread damaged or the rim chipped or bent so that you can't get the Venturi out.
Are the venturi threads damaged.
Has it been sitting for years and the galleries furred up.
It took us a long time to find our carbs and keep them in top condition so be careful who you buy from as it's quite a bit of cash to blow on a bad carb.
Try before you buy.
