Well said both Ken H and Alanrr, simple straight to the point, love the saying - hits the nail, I'd like to think I fall in the 'don't know' bunch - no one ever know's it all, I think I remember LH once saying he takes every drive as a learning experience - might be Bu*lS*it coming from him or anyone else if they don't really mean it - the right thing say and all that, but that should be true in everything we do. Also Alan's comment, accept it's never going to be level, find a bunch that race at your level and budget and be happy with it. I think I remember when Ken's lad was particularly quick against the bunch he was racing against that particular day / weekend and them running either a smaller restrictor or older tyres or whatever to level things out and have a good race, occasionally they didn't win but at least they had a good race. We did that at IKR when for what ever reason my lad was quick in comparison at a particular time or period and we would run lower grip tyres or the practice engine to level things out a bit so we could have a good race. I remember a classic wtp IKR race where the lead changed with my lad on every lap and 4 times in the last lap including into the last bend which was not a normal passing place, even when the other lads WTP set up was suspected to be a little 'tweaked', at the end of the day it really didn't matter, it was a great race!
