My understanding is that hoping is caused by the inside wheel not releasing enough, thus it grips, releases etc. To resolve this I've been advised by the S1 team from whom I bought our TKM to go softer on the axle and run it shorter as well. Not sure why though and haven't yet had a chance to test it either !
