for what it's worth .....

... I personally don't think there will ever be a time when you can benefit from having bead retainers

they are a pain if you are changing tyres regularly, they are ALWAYS liable to leaking/threading/breaking and then thats your race over.......take them out, fill the hole with a quality resin/filler put the retainers back in and screw them tight as you want, let it all set and then grind the protruding bit on the inside of the rim flush ... job done

well, thats what I do :)
