Not done one of these for a bit, but the end of a very successful first season of the Northern TKM Club Championship is rapidly approaching, with the final round taking place at Hooton Park on September 21st. We'll be expecting decent grids in both Junior and Senior Extreme, but the event is open to all MSA license holders from eligible clubs whether they are entered in the championship or not, so for those that get fed up with never seeing a decent size MSA TKM grid, this is the last guaranteed one in the North this year (unless you're a Junior at Rowrah, where the class always seems to be going great guns). Should be a great day's racing, with a few points battles being particularly close right to the end. Better than that, at the last few rounds there has been great (and generally clean!) racing going on at levels from good novice to S1 standard, and everything in between. A proper club championship.
There will also be grids at Hooton Park for the October and November club meetings as the Cheshire Kart Racing Club championship plays out for the last couple of rounds. Just as importantly a number of TKM Seniors have committed to doing the Cock o' the North meeting at Wombwell, and it would be great to see a really good TKM grid for that. If any Juniors are interested you can contact me or the club and I can keep you posted on just how many they have interested in entering. October 12th is the date.
Finally, a few have asked if the Northern TKM Club Championship will be happening again next year. I was a bit cagey this time last year, as we were trying to make sure we had sufficient clubs willing to commit. This year I'm very happy to say it's a definite "yes, it's happening". It has been a brilliant year's racing, and I for one can't wait to do it all again.
