Hi. Would appreiciate your comments regarding Rotax coolant temperature sensor fitting. Have removed sensor currently fitted to cylinder head, which I am assuming was for an Alfano-type unit, in order to fit a Righetti-Ridolfi display. However, the Righetti sensor has a different form than that removed, with a chamfer below the M10 thread which I expected to "bottom-out" to create a seal. (Removed sensor had short thread and no chamfer, with tracers of plumbers tape on thread). This chamfer does not "bottom-out" and sensor winds down to 12MM hex at top of sensor. Do I require some sort of sealant on this sensor (or plumbers tape!) to prevent leakage or am I missing something here? Any other advice on use of this gauge is welcomed. Thanks in advance for your replies.
