Ok back on topic, I find it amazing that you really think this whole standing start issue has come about because of "weak minded people who are not competing in a national championship" (nice way to alienate 95% + of kart drivers John) its been done because of the appalling driving standards today which result in multiple pile ups heat after heat.

Way too many kids over several years now have been taught that its acceptable and indeed essential to load and smash your way to the front off the start .

So who has taught them this?

Its not happened because we have pods or bumpers its happened because various team bosses and mentors etc have taught kids this is an acceptable way to do things and I cant see any way you can reverse that now as its become to ingrained in them so what can you do other than remove their chance to do it.

Influential people spouting nonsense like "man up" and calling people with different opinions "weak minded" just goes to show the problems karting has, these attitudes are unhelpful at best and at worst are just putting more people off. At a time when karting is desperate for more participants you are not going to get them by chucking abuse about and telling them if they don't like it go and play chess.
