There are thousands of X30's out there, it has been in other countries for several years now. Also, the production numbers are never going to be the size of the Rotax as the X30, as far as I am aware, is only used for one application, karting, unlike the several applications the Rotax is used for.

The engine has been used in France and Belgium for a number of years now. We competed in the X30 Euro Challenge against predominantly the French and Belgians and they certainly had no power advantages over us. If such gains were to be had you would have expected them to have found it and us to have been at a disadvantage power wise.

I think the main reason the big teams aren't jumping is because they already have plenty of customers happily paying to do Rotax where the grids at the minute are obviously greater and are able to do more high level races. Not to mention the financial investment they have in all that special Rotax gear...
