Getting excited with karting after renting a few times (Buckmore and lakeside) Now I want to try the 2 stroke as I think they are going to be more exciting (Daytona Max). Now the idea of buying one is coming but have a few unanswered questions I am not good in DIY so realistically is it reasonable to buy and maintain one myself? How often do you need engine rebuilt or carb cleaning etc that would require an expert mechanic? what does represent usual mainteinance on those kart? Are there engines (brand, model) which are more reliable than others? What does it mean sealed engine? What is the minimum equipment I need to buy with the kart (ie trailer etc)?
I regularly see in the market place various kart for sale but really have no idea on how to choose one and to understand what are the key things I need to check (and also usually no pictures are shown in the ads)
I am just concern that something that now requires 2 hour of spare time (book the kart, go to the track and see video etc and get ready and then karting) might become a much more demanding thing (and I do not have a lot of time usually as I travela lot for work and have a family)
I know a lot of question and nobody might have the time to respond to all but maybe somebody can suggest links or books where I can find info
