There should be no vertical movement. There are 2 possibilities, 1 the main bearings are very worn (excessive wet running can cause this) or 2 more serious crankcase wear causing the bearings to be loose in the casing.
The former is the most likely cause.
Do you know if the mains were replaced during the last build?
Either the builder or JAG can or should be able to tell you exactly what was replaced at the last service.
