Thanks Brian. At last someone who understood my posts re not breaking the seal.
As Alan says it's not complicated to "take a few measurements" but in reality it goes further ask the likes of Paul Carr and Ricky Grice the cost of sealing a dodgy engine to their pockets! Also accurate measuring kit and some of the equipment needed to do the checks costs money in most cases lots of it hence making the job pricy.
The Ł350 ish I quoted would be a ball park figure that one of the major 'names' may charge. Should one be presented to me it would likely be cheaper but imagine what would be said if you took your engine to a 'name' builder and received a hefty bill for the privilege had I not posted what is likely!
