I've decided to replace the wadding in my rotax exhaust. I've done around 45hrs and whatever the previous owner did. Got the old out, it was a bit crusty on the end and approx 50mm shorter than the tube, also the end of the perforated tube had broken off, approx 25mm.

Any advice on fitting the new sheet, are they normally cut to correct size?
Will there be any noticable difference in perfomance?
Is there any need to use the latest wire wool type or just replace the matting?

Cheers
