The pulse pipes are usually blue or red colour and I have never seen a clear one, If its the same as your fuel pipe then its the wrong pipe to use.

You will get some fuel/oil mixture deposits through the pulse pipe as the pressure in the crankcase that operates your fuel pump will have some fuel mix entrained in it. So yes I would say it's normal.
