You're welcome Matty

Yep that would be the spring. If it popped out that easy it would suggest the spring and the seal are very much fit for the bin. Any new seal should be treated with care when handling and fitting not to damage it.

You will struggle to get any real info from most builders ..it is their trade after all but I believe it is in their interest to help people too.

The sealant would normally be used to join the crank halfs and usually in place of the fiddly gaskets ..it can also help with squeezing that botten end up to elimate excessive float. I use loctite 515 and/or 518. Usually a little expensive but one tube if stored correctly lasts ages. Use it carefully around the crank halfs but you don't want it spilling into the engine when the cranks are bolted together so stay away from the inner edge. Youtube some bike and jetski engine building and you'll learn a lot of relevant info - 2 stroke vids of course.

Do yourself another huge favour and clean all the carbon from the exhaust port and the head. You can use various methods for this but good old elbow grease is the best way with ultra fine wet and dry and a little petrol/oil mix. Watch those clearances tho... :)

Hope that helps.
