Speaking as a driver AND someone who has worked as started from Club to Super1 level I challenge you to go out and get every start bang on every time - impossible. I don't subscribe to the idea that officials should get huge leeway because they are often unpaid etc as it is in the best interest of all those in the sport to have the best officiating possible.

Calling a false start is a big call for the starter - he is JUDGE OF FACT and therefore nobody can argue with his decision, this means that even if everyone saw it as perfect and he calls a false start then that is what goes. Calling a false start doesn't necessarily mean the next time round there wont be a whole host more problems so if the problem is as small as it sounds in this case, then I can totally understand that the starter let it go.

These things happen, it isn't always right but trust me, every wrong decision you make this much fuss about and you will start hating the sport, those involved and whats more, nobody will ever be on your side when you have a real grievance, boy who called wolf etc
