It is not the location at all. The fact is the number of MSA drivers is down and has been declining, especially club racers. When i raced there in 2001-2004 it was booming, same location.
In my opinion a fair few people who now compete in karting see it as a stepping stone to greater things so are off racing in S1 or NKF etc. The club driver is a dying breed in MSA racing, couple that with the current economic climate and the costs involved then certain clubs will suffer.
Eddie makes his money from corporate karting and other things so there is no motivation to go out of his way to try and get people down there to race.
Its not just GYG who are suffering poor entries, alot of clubs are being hit by the current climate and there is a myth that you have to spend a fortune to race well, yes you have to spend a certain amount but you can still do it on a relative shoestring.
