My lad was on the same grid so I saw it happen - its gutting. The pull cord breaking inside the handle has happened to me and another dad from the same team on the grid at PFI and Fulbeck. It can't be got at and rethreaded/tied easily, certainly not quickly enough on the grid. Maybe a different handle would help? I'm keeping really close eye on my new cord, but have some 3mm kevlar sailing cord ready to replace it with once it looks like its wearing.
