The post 09 CNC barrels do have better power at the bottom edge of the rev range due partly to a port height modification The older barrels have a casting number that can be found just to the side of the gear oil filler plug on the inlet. These are 223997 & 223996 The later type, including the current ones have 223993 (yes I know the later numbers are lower but that is also the Rotax part number)
