This 'concept' is often caused by a misundestanding. The 'idea' is that the oil is 'diluting' the petrol and thus the less you add, less dilute the petrol.

However, that completely forgets that you can adjust the amount of fuel getting in to the engine: that's what your jets are for. So, even if it DID dilute the petrol by (let's guess 2%) you'd jet the carb to deliver 2% more fuel and return the fuel to the same 'strength'.

The result of having too litle oil in the fuel is actually pretty catestrophic.... don't risk it!
