Rotax Lithium Battery - I'm worried!

Brought a genuine lithium battery today and without thinking used a Optimate 4 to charge it. The Optimate has failed on the test charge and I now realise I should not have used it. Can someone put my mind at rest that I have not knackered the battery please!

Also, If I buy a genuine Rotax charger where do you attach the single plug or do you have to buy the harness adapter as well.
