Someone advised me with good intention that we should run a 1390mm rear track with a 1000mm 'cutdown' rear axle- but using the same standard hubs.
The only difference I can see is the that with a 1030mm axle we have a 10mm space inside the hub and with a 1000mm axle we would have a 25mm gap ( slightly worrying)I can't see the differenceas the axle doesn't move or flex inside the hub- we were running in the dry
I can see the point of a short axle in the wet(providing you are outside the line of the pods-as MSA scruts like to remind me).
