There seems to be a growing trend to non-msa. I've been at Hooton Park for the last two non-msa race meetings and I have to say it's been a real eye opener. The racing is much cleaner which I didn't expect as I thought it would be the opposite and it's much easier to race with whatever kit you can get your hands on.

It's easier and cheaper to race and the racing is much cleaner so it doesn't surprise me that if the other non-msa meetings are like this then it's common sense to go racing non-msa.

IMO the MSA need to scrap the ARKS test and allow any helmet to be raced based on the SHARP helmet tests and allow any kart suit, boots and gloves.

I also think the MSA need to scrap the racing format like it currently is. They need to have qualifying so the fastest start at the front and the slowest start at the back. Starting last and trying to get to first in 7 laps is what promotes bad driving.

The easiest thing the MSA could do is to work with the non-msa. They could let the clubs do non-msa and scrap the MSA events at club level completely and then if drivers want to go that one step further into more serious competition then they could go into MSA controlled national championships / festivals and cups.

One things for sure, as it is now there won't be any MSA club meetings anyway if the current trend continues.
