I think what you get will very much depend on the circumstances. I cant see the engines being assembled here in the UK tbh, that would significantly increase costs for the suppliers. If it were me in the market for a new engine and I was fussy and prepared to pay for that I would approach a reputable specialist engine builder for it. He/she would want to retain the business and do their best. Dont forget also the machining techniques are much improved over previous decades. I think much of the fuss made about matching parts comes from lessons learned years ago.
