Extreme engines came in in Feb 04 which was also a new chassis/bodywork homologation.
The minimum weight for the class has also been changed a number of times 145kg in 2002/2003; 148 2004/2007. Not sure when it went to 152.
If memory serves 2003 TKM 100c lap record on 3S valley was 47.38, 2004 (Extreme) = 46.98; 2006 46.20. all pre the softer tyres.
So Extreme and 04 type chassis made approx 1 sec improvement.
The softer tyres make the rest of the difference either directly due to increased corner speed and indirectly following the introduction of CIK type chassis that make better use of them.
