Because I was one of those who 'fell for it', I am tempted to believe that some of it was true. I did also get factory selected kit from UK manufacturers, too. I ran Upton Manx, and TKM motors for a while, so it wasn't just the Italians doing this.

However, that would NOT prevent the factory keeping the very BEST 'FS motors' for their own 'works' drivers and selling on the 'nearly-brilliant' kit.

At least, those manufacturers from the 1960s 70s and 80s admitted they were selecting the 'best' for 'chosen' drivers and the 'second best' for 'paying' drivers, unlike the pretence today!

Still, I could be fooling myself!
