Shame, that's an expensive failure as the rod gets cooked, the piston usually hits the head resulting in the ring land collapsing & jamming the ring plus there's swarf and bits of cage floating around in the bottom end this means completely removing & replacing all bearings. Result 1 very expensive rebuild cost
I had 1 similar failure about 5 years ago when I rebuilt an engine using parts supplied by the customer, the big end failed after 1 1/2 hrs running, after speaking to the guy it turns out the B/E cage came on a plastic stick ( Non original IAME) all IAME B/E cages come on a cardboard stick & are very very good quality as are IAME Conrods, one of my customers engines hasn't had a Conrod change for 3 years, it's on 4 microns ovality & hasn't changed in 6 rebuilds
There are also other factors such as end float & other clearances to take into account as well, but the Parilla lynx is a well manufactured very reliable motor
