"Thinking of switching to TKM."

Talking to some TKM drivers, there doesn't seem to be any difference between the maintenance schedule of a TKM as against a Formula Blue engine.

So you aren't going to see any drop in the number of rebuilds.

There is a difference between grids, if the grid is highly competitive and recording fast times, then you will probably be stripping the engine more often and you will certainly be putting more wear on it. If the grid isn't so competitive or isn't going so fast, then one will either wear the engine less or be able to compete with an engine with more wear on it. Is your TKM grid less contested than your Blue grid?

If you are racing an MSA Blue, then I'm told that some components are more expensive than similar items that haven't been through the recording / tracking process. On the other hand, the recording / tracking process does seem to catch one or two engines of dubious provenance each year.

" but want something more reliable with less to go wrong "

There isn't anything different about a Blue and TKM that should lead to more rebuilds, unless you mean that your problem is not a wear problem, the usual meaning of rebuild, but that you have a problem with some piece of associated gear, like the starter or the cooling system. (Yes, I have had a rebuild caused by a failure in the cooling system. The failure was me not noticing that the temperature gauge was telling me something was wrong.)
