ian, i think rendall made a slight mistake in using the word 'coolant'. im pretty sure he meant antifreeze judging by his winter storage comment.

water afterall is the coolant

a coolant additive can be used to reduce viscosity and aid heat transfer of course.

water alone is going to be prone to corrosion of the system along with growth.

id like to see a performance curve v temp
