The new carb restrictors are likely to make little difference to the experienced boys up the front but will improve the lap times of the less experienced minimax drivers. Due to the Rotax carbs being too big for the engines, it has always been the case for drivers to lift off at high revs to limit the volume of air travelling through the carb and therefore richen the mixture for top end performance. This has now been forced by a restrictor so its easier to drive. Now with a consistent throttle, carb settings may have room to improve performance. I think it will help more at some circuits than others.
