You CANNOT say this with ANY degree of certainty: only the crankcases are identified by the engine number. YES, new motors from BT6500 came with the new machined barrel BUT old barrels will also fit. (as will all other old parts).
The only way to be sure is from the fiche found here http://www.tal-ko.com/PDF/BT82EngineFiche.pdf. old style barrels have CAST TKM mark, new style have MACHINED TKM mark.

On the dyno issue, only worthwhile if it's free as any gain from "matching" parts, carbs, exhausts is easily lost by a poor or inconsistent driver, or chassis set up.
Just my humble opinion, of course.
