depends on the cost

nothing replaces actual track conditions, loads, etc.

but dyno is good for seeing if a rebuild is good or not before you get to the track

this time of year its nicer to dyno than track test if you want to see the effects of e
carb setting, exhaust length, etc.

remember you will only optimise for the dyno loading and temp/pressure/relative humidity on that day
