Interesting that 14600 quoted revs invoked a request for the coil! sounds suspicious but what would be more interesting is to firstly know what rev counter is used.
Typically a mychon 4 will only show about 14400 as the very highest rpm value, however a Unipro on the same kart/conditions/gearing will display a higher reading. This has nothing to do with the unipro being inaccurate but the fact that it employs a faster sampling rate.
This leads us to one of 3 conclusions. 1. haltham is using a Unipro or 2.the rev counter used may be inaccurate! or 3. Its a dodgey coil/motor.
